Elon Musk
An early inspiration for Beyond Earth.
Elon Musk is a South African-born Canadian Business icon, investor, engineer, inventor, and inventor. He's most well known for his business ventures Paypal, SolarCity, Tesla Motors, and SpaceX. Elon and SpaceX are trying to build reusable rockets that can be launched and landed many times, making space travel affordable. This was an inspiration to us when we were creating our game and were considering the potential risks and challenges when facing a task like Elon's.

Zathura

Zathura was another inspiration for our video games. The movie features many space-themed challenges that make for an extremely thrilling and adventure-packed story. We want to encapsulate this in our game.

Unknown Space
Falcon 9
The Falcon 9 was the first spacecraft to be launched, leave the atmosphere, successfully land back on earth, and be launched into space again. This is monumental for the science of space travel. We took a look at this scholarly source to learn more about some of the challenges this spacecraft faced, and worked some of those into the challenges players face when playing Beyond Earth
This website explores fascinating space phenomenas that astronomers and scientist still don't fully understand. Things such as dark energy, dark matter, missing baryons, supernovas, cosmic rays, and the suns corona (core) are covered in this article. We used some of these as inspiration for the challenges players face in Beyond Earth.
